The first Earth Day was on April 22, 1970 when 20 million people took to the streets across the United States to protest environmental destruction. Now Earth Day is widely recognized as the largest secular observance in the world, marked by more than a billion people every year as a day of action to change human behavior and policies. 
Simpson Library will be closed on Sunday, May 12 for Mother's Day. Items checked out at Simpson Library will be not due and no holds will expire.
Looking for a friendly, cuddly, and attentive listener? Join us for Tales for Tails! Children can read out loud to trained therapy dogs from 6:00 - 7:00 pm on January 29. This program will be held in the lower level meeting rooms in the library. Please register online for this unique literacy event.
The Friends of the Library have partnered with the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg to present a Night at the Theatre on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:30 pm. Start your summer with a smile at the lighthearted musical, Forever Plaid, with other supporters of the library. Tickets cost $25 and are available at the library.
Would you like to join our Mah Jongg group at the library but don't know how to play? If you have been curious about this addictive game, here is your chance to try it out! We are now offering a four-part training session every month on first four Thursdays at 10:00 am. You will be glad you had the time to practice before coming to our regular weekly sessions!
Come play Mah Jongg at the library every Thursday from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Mah Jongg is a fascinating rummy-like game you play with tiles rather than cards. We meet in the Lower Level Meeting Room B. Registration is no longer required!
