The temporary New Brighton Library at 60 Brighton Mall will close for good at 4pm Sunday 29 January. The library will reopen in its usual location at Marine Parade by the pier at 9am on Monday 13 February.
Both libraries will be closed from Monday 30 January to Sunday 12 February. During the time when both libraries are closed, any items on hold for New Brighton customers will be held at Linwood Library at Eastgate.
You won't be able to return any library items to New Brighton while the libraries are closed. We recommend that you return items at any of our other locations, or renew due items. Contact us if you need any assistance or have any queries.
New Brighton Library sustained some moderate earthquake damage in 2011, and work has included repairs to the concrete columns and floors, replacement of the east-facing first floor windows, external painting, new carpet and more.
The temporary library 60 Brighton Mall has been busy serving the community in the four months since New Brighton Library’s closure.
