Library Journal Review

Take advantage of the garden, herbs, and flowers with this amazing collection of herb-based products. Blogger Berry (thenerdyfarmwife.com) concentrates on the application and properties of herbal ingredients in this attractive volume. Projects range from skin care to bath and hair care, soaps, scrubs, and household cleaners. Many are simple, with instructions that are sensible, straightforward; the recipes are ideal for small quantity-for personal use, mostly, but easy to multiply for larger batches. The required herbs and other ingredients are not hard to find or make yourself. There's a strong selection for making scrubs, balms, and lotions for gifts. However, the soapmaking section is a bit too cursory-a better choice is Anne-Marie Faiola's Pure Soapmaking. VERDICT The approachable recipes make this an essential source for homemade herbal products. © Copyright 2016. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
