The #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Virgin River series explores the healing powers of Colorado as one woman seeks the happiness she's long been missing.
Maggie Sullivan knows she needs to slow down and the best place to do that is Sullivan's Crossing. The campground and charming general store at the crossroads of the Colorado and the Continental Divide Trails belong to Maggie's eccentric father, Sully, and she longs to indulge in his simple way of life.
But when Maggie must take responsibility for the Crossing, a quiet and serious hiker, Cal Jones, offers to lend a hand. Maggie is suspicious--until she discovers the true reason for his deliberate isolation.
Though Cal and Maggie each struggle with loss and loneliness, the time they spend together gives them hope for something brighter on the horizon...if only they can learn to find peace and healing--and perhaps love--with each other.
Don't miss Robyn Carr's next uplifting novel, The Friendship Club, where four women come together at a tumultuous time in their lives, forging an unbreakable bond that will leave them all forever changed--available January 2024!

Author Notes
Robyn Carr is a best-selling author of romance novels. She studied nursing in college, but because she married her high school sweetheart who then joined the US Navy, Carr never had time to stay in one place and practice nursing. Instead, she became a reader of romance novels and then decided to write her own. Since that time she has written many historical and contemporary-based romance novels.
Robyn's titles include the Virgin River, Thunder Point, and Grace Valley series as well as a number of stand-alone novels. Robyn's titles, A New Hope and Wildest Dreams, made the New York Times bestseller list in 2015. Robyn's titles, Backward Glance, What We Find, The House on Olive Street and The Life She Wants, made the New York Times bestseller list in 2016.

Publisher's Weekly Review
Carr takes a break from her Thunder Point series to explore the mountains of Colorado in this contemporary, which is filled with set pieces that ring true but largely fail to excite. Talented neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan, reeling from personal and professional setbacks-most notably a wrongful death lawsuit and a miscarriage -retreats to her father's home, a campground called Sullivan's Crossing. She meets Cal Jones, who came to the Crossing with his own issues to sort out, and immediately finds him suspicious. When Maggie's father suffers a heart attack, Maggie commits to caring for him, and she and Cal grow close as they both try to determine how to be their best selves. For all that readers learn about Maggie and Cal, they still feel underdeveloped as characters, and though there are moments of commotion, including medical crises to a young woman's abduction, they serve more as opportunities for Maggie to demonstrate her capabilities than anything else. The plodding pace eventually overpowers the pleasant setting and spicy-sweet romance. (Apr.) © Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
Booklist Review
*Starred Review* Carr (Wildest Dreams, 2015) has kept readers eagerly reading with her best-selling Thunder Point and Virgin River series. She now offers a stand-alone novel set in Colorado. Denver neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan's heart is broken and her soul is crushed by a rapid trifecta of tragedies. After a miscarriage, her boyfriend dumps her, and she's being unfairly sued for malpractice. Emotions barely under control, she flees to the only refuge she knows, her father Sully's Colorado campground and general store on the Continental Divide Trail. Cal Jones has also sought sanctuary at Sully's campground. He's staying there until the weather's good enough to work out his problems by hiking the CDT. Neither Maggie nor Cal expects to find love and a second chance. With this tale of the soothing splendor of the land and our vulnerability, Carr sets the bar for contemporary romance. The well-paced plot, engaging and well-defined characters, and an inviting setting make Carr's latest an enhancement not only to the romance shelves but to any fiction collection.--Mosley, Shelley Copyright 2016 Booklist
Library Journal Review
Stretched to the breaking point by crushing personal disappointment and work-related stress, neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan leaves Denver for a much-needed rest and heads to the Rockies and Sullivan's Crossing, her father's general store and family campground. Her hope is to decompress, heal, and get her life back on track. The last thing she wants is another relationship. Cal Jones isn't looking for one either; he's in the Rockies on another mission entirely. But when Maggie's father has a heart attack and Cal and Maggie both remain at the camp to help, they are hard-pressed to resist the attraction that flares between them. Descriptions so vivid the scent of pine and the rattle of wind in the aspens wafts from the pages and add depth and a strong feeling of place-a place that readers might like to revisit. Insightfully realized central figures, a strong supporting cast, family issues, and uncommon emotional complexity make this uplifting story a heart-grabber that won't let readers go until the very end. VERDICT A rewarding (happy) story that will appeal across the board and might require a hanky or two. Carr (Wildest Dreams) lives in Henderson, NV. © Copyright 2016.
