A huge hog, a fae-like people, and Appalachia all mean one thing: the fifth book in Bledsoe's Tufa series. It opens with the brutal murder of Kera Rogers by a giant wild hog. The community begins to deal with the death in its own way (by sending a hunting party after the hog), but her sort-of boyfriend, Duncan, wants revenge. Duncan also discovers that she was sleeping with Adam, Duncan's best friend, and he kinda wants revenge for that, too. After Adam is also found dead, everyone begins to talk about how Duncan is at the center of both murders. However, Mandalay, the leader of one of the clans, thinks there might be something else happening in the community. Readers need not have read the previous Tufa books; this title works well as a stand-alone and as a spectacular addition to the series. A must-read for fantasy or literary-fiction fans and also a perfect fit for a mystery lover seeking something a little different.--Whitmore, Emily Copyright 2017 Booklist
