Dr. John Ban will discuss the comedians of World War II era.
The World War 2 period was teeming with comedy. Both our civilian and military populations craved laughter to take our minds off the war. A comedian's job is to make people laugh. Laugh they did to the hilarious performances of these master jesters: Bob Hope, Jack Benny, George Burns, Gracie Allen, Red Skeleton, Jimmy Durante, Victor Borge, the Three Stooges, Danny Kaye and Abbott and Costello. So bring your Kleenex and hold your sides as these humorists steal the stage in those stressful times.
