- Welcome to the Monster Drawing Workshop. Today is all about doing a fun creative exercise, where you're gonna be leveraging your creative, creativity that is, to create your own unique desktop monster, if you will, a desktop sculpture. This is a good part drawing, a good part paper craft. Don't be intimidated by that. I'm gonna walk you through each of the stages, and it's gonna make sense, you're gonna have fun, and you'll be able to interpret those stages any way you want. It's all about tapping your own creativity, tapping how you can look at something, and see it in a different way, and in this case, monsters can be anything you want, so that makes it a lot of fun as well. Before we jump into this, there are a few things we need to go through, and the first one is the tools we're gonna use today. It's all simple tools. We're gonna start off using thin-weight cardboard. This is gonna serve as our, the foundation for our monster. We'll be drawing on this, cutting it out, and then we'll ink it and colorize it. We'll also use bond paper, just simple white paper, and this is where you'll work out your ideas before we start constructing it, and if it helps you, this isn't a mandatory thing, but I think it might help some of you to move a drawn idea to cardboard, you can sandwich a piece of carbon paper in between your white paper and the cardboard, draw on that, and it'll transfer your drawing to the cardboard, so if you want to do that, that's great. Now, the tools we're gonna be using are simple tools. There are black pens, pencils, you'll use scissors to cut out your shapes. If it gets to an are where the angle's a little hard to use the scissors, you can use the Exactos provided, and you can also use the colored pencils, and the white pencil to colorize and detail your monster, and each of these stages, I'm gonna allow you time to do each of these things.
