Is there a story you want to tell? The Dallas Public Library, in partnership with The Dallas Morning News and with funding from the Knight Foundation, is seeking creative and inquisitive high school students to participate in a student journalism program, Storytellers Without Borders.

If selected to participate, you will be introduced to basic journalism and research skills necessary to write and share stories about the Dallas community that you think are important. This is an opportunity to work closely with mentors, such as professional journalists, librarians and city leaders, to develop and write stories, and take photos. The final news stories will be published on swbdallas.org.

Storytellers Without Borders starts September 26, 2018 and ends the week of November 14, 2018. This eight week program meets weekly at Dallas Public Library’s Central Library, 1515 Young St., on Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm. Students attend once a week for eight weeks. Application is open to anyone in grades 9-12 who lives in the city of Dallas. The deadline to apply HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO midnight September 19, 2018. Please note that limited spots are available in this program. Filling out this application in full is the best way to earn a spot in this program.
