We are a collective of six crime writers from the North of England, equally happy appearing online or in the real world, whose work has been highly praised by both readers and reviewers. To date we’ve gained about 30 prizes – including CWA Daggers (we have TWO Diamond Dagger winners among our members!), Edgars, Macavitys, Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, RTS, Anthony, and Agatha Awards as well as honorary degrees. We have produced several anthologies of our work, and the stories in those books have themselves earned awards and nominations. We are currently looking forward to our 25th anniversary – and, although we’ve killed many people in our stories, we have remained great friends from day one.
Many Deadly Returns
To mark our 21st anniversary, we published a new anthology, MANY DEADLY RETURNS: 21 stories celebrating 21 years of Murder Squad. To showcase the release, all six members of Murder Squad were interviewed by Barbara Peters at The Poisoned Pen Bookstore
The Audible version of MANY DEADLY RETURNS was released in December 2021, narrated by Janine Birkett and David Thorpe.
