Story Slam: Travel Edition

Have a travel story to share? The Beaverton City Library Story Slam is a friendly, open-mic storytelling competition. Potential storytellers will put their names in a hat; names will be picked from the hat and those chosen will take to the stage to tell their true, personal, 5- to 8-minute story. Come put your name in the hat to tell a story or just to enjoy the show! Stories must be told from memory.

Jenica Barrett, creator of Zero Waste Wisdom, joins us to discuss how she has managed to reduce her household waste to less than 2 pounds per year. Three years into her zero waste journey, Jenica will provide information on local resources for bulk shopping, composting, and recycling. Additionally, participants will learn about easy switches they can make to ditch the disposables and start using reusable alternatives.
