I have just finished my first book and am very pleased. First, finding and downloading was simple. I used Overdrive dozens of times and struggled every time and still do not know how to use it properly. Second, there were several pictures and they were well integrated and easy to see. Navigation is easy and the percentage read is there but unobtrusive. The font was not particularly good or maybe its filling the screen was the problem, but the page presentation is not particularly good. Just a minor problem. Have not checked on the size of the library, but I found numerous books to read.
It simply does work on an Android phone. I think this company knows that and doesn't want to deal with it. But no where does anyone warn you. Anyway, it's a free download, so at least you're not out any money.
Appreciate having greater access to library ebooks. I would suggest that the app be tweaked a bit: you have to completely exit to see what books you have downloaded to read. It doesn't "save" your place or bookmark
I've used this some. I haven't found a big variety of books though this app. I got the notice through the local library and I just finished a book through this system and I have read at least one other book using this app. I'm spoiled to Kindle books. Of course I have this on a Kindle but it's not the same as Kindle edition books from Amazon. The features such as X-ray and dictionary are not there and sometimes if I got completely out of the book to look at something else, the app "forgot" where I was and I had to find my place by scrolling through it. It does keep up with the percentage of the way through the book so I learned to note the percentage and the chapter I was in in case I had to find my way back to where I was. The books are free. That's a plus.
I expected that this would be a great companion to Overdrive for getting library books. I was sadly disappointed. First off, the app doesn't even look or feel like an Android / Kindle app. It looks like a poorly ported iOS app. Parts of it flat out don't work. Secondly, the books themselves are of some kind of weird proprietary format, so you're stuck with using their very poor Android app to read the books, rather than being able to read them using any of the hundreds of EPUB readers that are out there.
Poor choice overall. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Als ich versucht habe die heruntergeladene app zu nutzen, wollte sie ein Passwort von mir. Ich hatte aber weder eines erhalten, noch die Möglichkeit eines zu erstellen. Also reine Zeitverschwendung.
